The Schmeisser AR15-22 is not an ordinary rimfire replica that merely resembles a larger rifle. It is built as a functional AR-15 in .22 LR, retaining the familiar controls, ergonomics and handling characteristics of the platform.
The .22 LR calibre allows for more affordable training compared with higher-powered calibres. Users can practise handling, controls and shooting fundamentals on the AR-15 platform at significantly lower ammunition costs.

Modular construction
The rifle uses a genuine Schmeisser Mil-Spec AR-15 lower receiver. This makes it compatible with most Mil-Spec AR-15 platforms.
The .22 LR upper receiver can be combined with most Mil-Spec AR-15 platforms. The rifle can therefore serve both as a standalone rimfire rifle and as a training platform for AR-15 handling.
If users later decide to move to .223 Rem., the platform can be expanded by purchasing a compatible upper receiver.

The Schmeisser AR15-22 16″ features an M-LOK handguard, an adjustable stock and an ergonomic pistol grip. The barrel is 16″ long, with a 1:16″ twist rate and a ½-28 UNEF thread for muzzle devices or a suppressor.
